About TravelReady Guide
TravelReady Guide is a free reference for practical travel information, organized one page per destination. For each country we compile the things travelers actually need before they go: power plug types and voltage, emergency phone numbers, whether tap water is safe to drink, tipping customs, the best season to visit, and a quick visa overview.
Our pages draw on public, authoritative references where available — such as the IEC World Plugs database, national tourism boards, emergency-number references, and official government portals — and we link those sources on each country page so you can verify the details yourself.
We focus on facts that don't change often and present them clearly, so you can find what you need in seconds rather than digging through forums. Travel rules — especially visas and entry requirements — can change, so we mark a last-reviewed date on every country page and link the official sources you should confirm before you travel.
What every country page covers
Each destination page is built from the same checklist, so you always know where to look:
- Power plugs and voltage — socket types, voltage and frequency, and whether you need an adapter or a converter.
- Emergency numbers — police, ambulance and fire, plus the pan-European 112 where it applies.
- Tap water safety — whether tap water is generally safe to drink for visitors.
- Driving side — left or right, useful when renting a car or crossing the street.
- Tipping customs — what's expected in restaurants, taxis and hotels.
- Best time to visit — the seasons most travelers aim for.
- Visa overview — a quick orientation, with a link to the official source to confirm before you book.
Tools to plan across countries
Beyond individual country pages, we keep a few cross-country references: an adapter checker to see if your plug fits, a packing checklist, and topic tables that line up every country side by side. You can also browse a single fact across all countries, such as power plugs or emergency numbers.
How current the information is
Every country page carries a last-reviewed date. Stable facts — plug types, driving side, emergency numbers — rarely change. Anything that can change without notice, especially visa and entry rules, should always be confirmed against the official source we link before you travel.
